I am pleased to introduce my readers to fiber artisans whose work is not only beautiful, but innovative and distinct. Eileen Doughty’s specialty is creating landscape art quilts. She founded Doughty Designs in 1991 and has been creating commissioned custom, heirloom quilts and textile art ever since.

Ms. Doughty recently submitted one of her landscape quilts at “The Sky’s the Limit” International Quilt Festival and was honored to place second.  She will also be participating in a special exhibit, “President Obama: A Celebration in Art Quilts” at the Cafritz Arts Center, Montgomery College, Takoma Park, Maryland.
