Art Exchange – Discovery
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009A few weeks ago I was invited to join an “art exchange” and so glad I did. Although a bit of the chain letter type, the exchange gives one an opportunity to get to know others in fiber art and, certainly, for someone to become familiar with your work as well.
As per process, I created and sent a small fiber art piece to Carol Wiebe in Canada. I had not known Carol or anything about her art till joining art exchange, and so an opportunity to see the work of another.
Carol Wiebe’s work is different, intriguing. She works in a medium called “cracked paper quilts” – a creative process full of adaptations and applications. You will find an article by Carol Wiebe on the process in Quilting Arts Magazine, issue #39, on p. 52. Visit Carol’s website to find out more and her blog too.
If you have an invite to join the Art Exchange, do so! Thank you to Carol for posting the piece I sent her on her blog and giving exposure to my work too.
